Cruise ship season ends |23 May 2025

• Registers a fall in port calls, number of passengers
There was a reduction in the number of port calls by cruise ships in Port Victoria, resulting also in a decrease in the number of passengers for the 2024-2025 cruise ship season as compared to the 2023-2024 season.
This was announced by the tourism department and the Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) in a joint press conference yesterday afternoon at the latter’s head office in Port Victoria, prior to the arrival of the last cruise ship, Seven Seas Voyages, which also marked the closure of the season from October 7, 2024 to May 22, 2025.
According to SPA’s chief executive, Sony Payet, the number of port calls for the 2024-2025 season were 35 compared to 42 calls for the 2023-2024 season, while the number of passengers dropped from 47,465 the previous season to 31,605 this time around.
