Four Seasons Resort Seychelles’ Chef Trevor Philoe heads to Four Seasons Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island for cross-exposure experience
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles has announced that Chef de Partie, Trevor Philoe, one of their most passionate and driven young talents, will embark on a month-long cross-exposure programme in July at Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island.
Running from July 1 to 31, 2025, the experience will allow Chef Trevor to expand his culinary expertise in one of the region’s most dynamic luxury kitchens.
Trevor’s journey at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles began in 2019, when he joined the team as a tenacious commis chef, bringing with him a quiet determination and an eagerness to learn. A proud Seychellois and one of the resort’s rising young talents, Trevor’s passion and perseverance quickly set him apart.
In 2022, his hard work was rewarded with a promotion to Demi Chef de Partie, a role in which he continued to hone his craft and deepen his culinary knowledge. Today, he stands as Chef de Partie, a testament to his growth and dedication over the years. His story is a shining example of local talent flourishing within the Four Seasons family.
During his time in Abu Dhabi, Chef Trevor will work primarily in the hotel’s renowned steakhouse, Butcher & Still, while also rotating through every kitchen outlet, from breakfast to dinner service. The opportunity will provide him with broad exposure to diverse techniques, cuisines, and service styles in a fast-paced urban environment.
Chef Trevor is in high demand in Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and assists in all main kitchens. His passion stems from freshly caught fish, grilled meats and traditional creole curries where he actively heads up the cooking classes for guests. “Cooking is an art for me, you learn from mistakes. It’s been a rough road to get here, but you have to be flexible, punctual, and have a good attitude. It’s my life,” says Trevor. His unwavering dedication, positive attitude, and hunger to learn have earned him admiration from both colleagues and guests.
His mentor and guide, Executive Chef Carlos Rodriguez, shares his pride in Trevor’s progress: “Watching Trevor grow has been incredibly rewarding. His passion is contagious, and I know he’ll make the most of this opportunity. We’re all so proud of him.”
This cross-exposure programme is part of Four Seasons’ broader commitment to developing talent across its global portfolio, encouraging cultural exchange, professional growth, and shared inspiration among its culinary teams.
Chef Trevor’s journey from the kitchens of Petite Anse to the vibrant culinary scene of Abu Dhabi is a true reflection of the Four Seasons spirit, where passion meets opportunity.
