Yacht catches fire near Eden Island, sinks after crew safely evacuates
A yacht caught fire off Eden Island South yesterday afternoon, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
According to a joint communique issued by the Seychelles Maritime Safety Authority (SMSA) and Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA), the incident was reported to the SMSA at around 1:10pm. The crew managed to steer the vessel to a safe location and safely abandoned it before the fire intensified.
