ECS encourages voters to register online
The Electoral Commission of Seychelles is reminding voters they can now use its Online Voter Registration system; aimed at making the voter registration process more accessible to all eligible citizens.
In a press release issued yesterday, the Electoral Commission of Seychelles said that with the upcoming electoral events on the horizon, it is encouraging all Seychellois – particularly first-time voters and those who need to update their information – to take advantage of the new digital platform now available at www.ecs.sc
The process is simple and secure:
- Visit the official ECS website at www.ecs.sc
- Click on the icon ‘Check your registration status or register online’.
- Create a secure online account.
- An officer will contact the applicant to confirm their identity and verify account ownership.
- Upon approval, users can log in and submit their application for:
- New Registration
- Transfer
- Correction
- Change of Name
- Objection
- Youths eligible for pre-registration can also apply online by selecting the appropriate option once logged in.
- Applicants must upload valid, clear, and legible documents to support their submission.
- In cases of registration, transfer, or objection, ECS officers will follow up with applicants to provide additional details to facilitate the verification process.
This initiative is part of ECS’ ongoing commitment to improve public access to registration process and participation in the democratic process, read the press release.
“We are committed to ensuring that all eligible voters can register and update their information in the most convenient way possible. This online platform is a major step forward in modernising our electoral services,” said the Chief Registration Officer, Sheena Max.
