Former Minister Jérémie Bonnelame laid to rest

Former Minister for Foreign Affairs Jérémie Bonnelame, 86, who was also a seasoned diplomat, was laid to rest yesterday afternoon at the Mont Fleuri cemetery.

The funeral service, which was presided by Father David Alcindor, was held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and was attended by family members, high ranking government officials, friends, former work colleagues and members of the public.

Among those who came to pay their last respect to Mr Bonnelame were President Wavel Ramkalawan, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Rony Govinden, and ministers.
