National Assembly approves administrative amendment to Procurement Act
The National Assembly approved the Public Procurement Amendment Bill on Tuesday morning, with 27 votes.
In presenting the bill, Vice-President Ahmed Afif noted that it proposes amendments to sections 23, 24 and 26 of the Public Procurement Act (Cap. 305), which provides for the basic principles and procedures to be applied in, and regulate, the public procurement of goods, public works, consultancy services, and other services. The Act also governs the institutions responsible for those matters.
