NACC, musicians address key issues impacting the industry

The National Arts and Crafts Council held a five-hour stakeholder meeting with musicians yesterday at its head office in Victoria, to address pertinent issues impacting the industry.
This is the first in a series of meetings that will transpire back-to-back with different stakeholders within the arts sector. The National Arts and Crafts Council (NACC) currently has 400 registered artists.
NACC executive director Jimmy Savy led the discussion with the 19 members present, over three of the most talked about subjects, one of which was the issue of copyright and piracy and the legality surrounding it. “Protection of the artists is one of the most pressing issues,” Mr Savy stated.
