Local dance instructor Denis Rose shines on global stage

The Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts has proudly announced that Denis Rose, dance instructor at the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts, showcased his dual talent as choreographer and sole performer in an international film that continues to earn global recognition.

The film, directed by Steve Woods and filmed two years ago, was recently awarded Best Performance at the Black Lives Rising Live Virtual Dance Film Festival in the United States. Denis Rose’s powerful and emotive dance performance was central to the production’s success, according to a statement from the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts.

“This achievement adds to the film’s growing list of honours, including a MIPS Award in Barcelona last year, underscoring its artistic and cultural impact on the international stage,” added the statement.
