Remember history, honour the fallen, cherish peace and strive for a better future
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. On September 2, 1945, Japan formally signed the Instrument of Surrender. The victory is a historic turning point for the Chinese nation – from the depths of crisis in modern times to the path of great rejuvenation, and also a major turning point in world development. In this regard, China has designated September 3 as a national memorial day. On September 3, 2025, China held V Day military parade at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, commemorating this significant moment together with people around the world.
