Removal of importation fee for commercial goods via passenger arrival terminal
The Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade has announced that the fee for the importation of commercial goods through the passenger arrival terminal will be removed, effective October 15.
Currently, this fee stands at R500 per piece of luggage.
In a press release issued yesterday, the ministry said the removal of the fee forms part of the government’s continued efforts to support small businesses.
Customs procedures and compliance checks will remain in place to ensure all goods imported through the terminal continue to meet the necessary legal requirements, added the communique.
