PUC addresses ongoing water shortage

The water crisis currently affecting south Mahe will continue until further notice, chief executive of the Public Utilities Corporation, Joel Valmont has confirmed.

In a press conference held yesterday, Mr Valmont revealed that on Sunday October 26, at around 6pm, the corporation experienced an incident with its intake – the pipe that draws water from the sea to the plant – and this affected the plant’s operations. Despite working throughout the night, the team was unable to resolve the issue.
