2026 budget to be tabled by end of January

 

The Minister for Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment, Pierre Laporte, has announced that the 2026 budget will be put before the National Assembly by end of January 2026 for implementation in March 2026.

In the meantime, the ministry will seek a supplementary budget to cover government expenses until March 2026. Minister Laporte made the comment during a press conference yesterday morning at the ministry’s headquarters, Liberty House, where he was reacting to the recent report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the state of Seychelles’ economy following its last staff mission to the country a week ago, led by mission chief, Todd Schneider.
