‘Give a child a gift’ initiative to spread love for a fourth consecutive year

To start the Christmas celebrations, the National Council for Children organised its fourth ‘Give a Child a Gift’ initiative yesterday, providing gifts to underprivileged individuals nationwide.

Similar to previous years, the contributions were made by the non-governmental organisation, Soroptimist International Club of Victoria, which had budgeted around R35,000 for the purchase of 286 gifts, which were handed over to the National Council for Children (NCC).

The latter then handed them over to all district administrators during a brief ceremony yesterday morning at the Cascade district administration office. This was in the presence of NCC’s chief executive, Yasmin Umarji, along with representatives of the Soroptimist International Club of Victoria.
