DRDM launches 160 emergency hotline to strengthen national coordination
The Department of Risk and Disaster Management has officially launched the 160 emergency hotline – a new multi-hazard number aimed at strengthening coordination and management of emergencies nationwide.
Speaking at the launch, principal secretary for the Department of Risk and Disaster Management (DRDM), Daniel Cetoupe, explained that the introduction of the 160 line responds to long-standing challenges in emergency coordination, where members of the public are often unsure which service to contact during a crisis.
