Seychelles formally establishes diplomatic relations with the Republic of Cameroon

 

The Minister for Foreign Affairs & the Diaspora of the Republic of Seychelles, Barry Faure, met with the Minister for External Relations of the Republic of Cameroon, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, and signed the joint communiqué to officially establish diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The joint communique states that the two countries agree to establish their diplomatic relations in conformity with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of April 24, 1963.

The two ministers agreed to further explore potential avenues for collaboration between the two countries.

The signing marks a significant milestone in Seychelles’ diplomatic outreach within the African continent to fostering friendly relations built on the foundations of mutual respect, equality and sovereignty.
