National Assembly approves series of budget allocations for 2026
The National Assembly of Seychelles last week approved a series of budget allocations for ministries, departments and agencies, following several days of committee stage deliberations.
Debates on the budget estimates began early in the week, with lawmakers examining the financial needs and priorities of different government bodies before voting on their proposed allocations.
Among the first budgets to be approved was that of the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and the Blue Economy, which received R107.6 million after securing 22 votes in favour. The Seychelles Agricultural Agency was also allocated R68.8 million, with 16 members voting in support.
