National Assembly approves 2026 budget for Ministry of Industry and Enterprise

The National Assembly yesterday approved budget allocations for the 2026 financial year for the Ministry of Industry and Enterprise and its affiliated bodies.

The Ministry of Industry and Enterprise has been allocated R29.05 million for 2026, an increase of R6.3 million compared to the 2025 budget.

Presenting the budget, Minister Geralda Desaubin explained that the increase is largely due to an additional R5.5 million earmarked for the development of an investment portal. The digital platform will serve as a “one-stop-shop” to facilitate investment and business registration, with completion expected by the third quarter of this year.
