Semifinal line-up completed
Reigning champions Tampon Gecko Volley from Reunion and Quatre Bornes Volleyball Club of Mauritius have secured the final two spots in the women’s semifinals of the 30th Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 7 Club Championship.
The draw sets up an exciting scenario: the two local sides – Arsu Ladies and City Ladies – will face off in the second semifinal at 4pm at the Palais des Sports, while the first last-four encounter will be contested by Tampon Gecko Volley of Reunion and Quatre Bornes Volleyball Club of Mauritius at 2pm.
St Denis Olympique, unbeaten throughout the group stage, carried the momentum into the quarterfinals as they led by two sets against Quatre Bornes Volleyball Club, only for the former four-time champions from Mauritius to reverse the situation and win the thrilling five-set encounter 3-2 (13-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-20, 15-11) after 2 hours 04 minutes of play.
