Government acts to shield families from price hikes

President Patrick Herminie yesterday signed an Order under the Control of Supplies and Services Act that introduces price control on a number of essential items.
This measure, to regulate wholesale and retail mark-ups, has been introduced as part of government’s efforts to cushion the population, especially the more vulnerable, against the impact of rising food and other commodity prices in the aftermath of the conflict in the Middle East.
