Seychelles tops Africa in passport power

Seychelles has once again retained its top position as having Africa’s most powerful passport, according to the latest Henley Passport Index, published on March 9. The island nation ranks 22nd globally, granting its citizens visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to between 151 and 154 destinations worldwide.

This places Seychelles well ahead of its closest African rival, Mauritius, which ranks 25th globally with access to 147 destinations. South Africa follows as the third strongest passport on the continent, ranked 46th worldwide with visa-free access to 100 destinations.
