Charged with safeguarding the country’s fisheries resources, the Seychelles Fisheries Authority undertakes targeted scientific research to improve understanding of fish stocks.
The results guide efforts to sustainably manage and protect these vital natural resources. The Mahé plateau trap and line co-management plan which came into effect in 2022 has established a minimum size limit for Emperor Red Snapper (bourzwa) and Green Jobfish (zob gri).
