Let the children speak for the forests!

Just like the Vallée de Mai, Le Ravin de Fond Ferdinand is an ancient forest. Yet, there was something different about that place on Saturday morning. It was not just the wind tickling the leaves and creating beautiful morning melodies. It was the voices of children echoing messages far beyond the canopy.
At the heart of the celebrations for the International Day of Forests, it was the children who gave the forest its voice.
In this week’s Environment page, we take a closer look at four powerful poems that were recited on Saturday during the opening ceremony of the International Day of Forests held at Fond Ferdinand.
