Finance minister outlines measures for small tourism-dependent businesses amid Gulf conflict

Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment Minister Pierre Laporte, appeared before the National Assembly yesterday to respond to an urgent question concerning the challenges facing small businesses especially those reliant on the tourism sector.
The question was presented by the leader of the opposition Hon. Bernard Georges who queried the adverse impact the decline in tourist arrivals linked to the ongoing conflict in the Gulf is having on many businesses, particularly small enterprises such as taxi operators, car hire services, small hotels, guesthouses and restaurants, and whether there are any plans in place to help these businesses in meeting their financial obligations.
