ISS celebrates creativity with vibrant hat parade |08 April 2026

International School Seychelles was filled with colour, joy, and creativity last week as its early years learners took centre stage in this year’s delightful hat parade.
Pupils from reception one and reception two proudly showcased their imaginative, handcrafted hats, inspired by countries including Tanzania, New Zealand, Seychelles, India, and Spain. The parade was a vibrant celebration of cultures from around the world, with each creation reflecting unique symbols, traditions, and landscapes.
The event provided a special opportunity for the school’s youngest learners to express themselves creatively while building confidence in a supportive and joyful environment.
Parents gathered to watch and celebrate the children’s efforts, creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere that highlighted the strong sense of community within the school. The smiles, applause, and excitement throughout the parade made it a truly memorable occasion.
Speaking about the event, executive head Elodie Vallantine shared,
"Our early years hat parade is a beautiful celebration of creativity and cultural awareness. It is wonderful to see our youngest learners express themselves with such confidence and joy, supported by their families. Events like these truly reflect the nurturing and inclusive spirit of our school community."
The hat parade is part of the school’s annual commitment to providing engaging, hands-on experiences that foster creativity, confidence, and an appreciation for global diversity from an early age.
The school extends its sincere thanks to all children, parents, and staff who contributed to making this event such a heartwarming and successful celebration.
