‘Seychelles needs clear direction, science-based decisions, and a health system that serves both professionals and the public effectively’ |08 April 2026
Hon. Philip Monthy, secretary general of Linyon Demokratik Seselwa
“On this World Health Day 2026 and Health Workers Day, the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa stands firmly with our health workers and the people of Seychelles. Under the theme ‘Together for Health. Stand with Science’, we reaffirm that health leadership must be guided by evidence, transparency, and accountability.
“Seychelles needs clear direction, science-based decisions, and a health system that serves both professionals and the public effectively. Linyon Demokratik Seselwa salutes all our health workers for their dedication and resilience, often under difficult conditions. They deserve more than recognition; they deserve support, stability, and leadership they can trust. We call for greater transparency and accountability in the way health decisions are taken and communicated to both health workers and the public.
“Restoring trust in science and in our public health institutions requires openness, consistency, and genuine engagement. The health of our nation must never be undermined by indecision or lack of direction. Seychelles deserves a health system that is decisively led, adequately resourced, and firmly anchored in science and evidence. The Linyon Demokratik Seselwa party calls for urgent, science-based reforms to strengthen our health system, invest in our workforce, and rebuild public confidence through accountable leadership.
“Today, we stand with our health workers. Today, we stand with science. And today, we stand for a stronger, healthier, and more accountable Seychelles.
