Former President Ramkalawan denounces body search

Former President, Wavel Ramkalawan has announced that he will be filing three potential cases before the Supreme Court in the next two weeks, pertaining to multiple allegations and harassment. Mr Ramkalawan said he was already in talks with his lawyers to file the cases, citing one, which he claimed raises constitutional concerns.

He made the comments during a press conference held yesterday morning at the Arpent Vert conference room, Mont Fleuri. This was in relation to the body and baggage search conducted at the Seychelles International Airport on Monday April 13, 2026, which involved Mr Ramkalawan and his head of security, Anil Bristol. This was upon their return to Seychelles from Morocco, where the former president was attending a summit from April 7-9.
