Police crack down on rising scooter theft wave

The Seychelles Police Force has sounded the alarm over a sharp rise in scooter, motorcycle, and vehicle thefts since the start of 2026. More than 25 cases have already been reported in the first four months, marking a troubling increase compared to previous years.
At a press conference held yesterday at the Central Police Station in Victoria, officials outlined the scale of the problem and ongoing measures to tackle it.
