Farewell to Celine Dine: A timeless voice of Seychelles |09 May 2026

Family, friends, fellow musicians, and admirers gathered at St Michel Archange Church to bid a heartfelt farewell to beloved Seychellois artist and composer Celine Dine, whose music touched generations and became woven into the cultural fabric of the nation.
Born in Anse aux Poules Bleues in October 1937, Celine was the fourth of twelve children in a family where music was cherished. Surrounded by melodies from an early age, and with two brothers already involved in music, she quickly developed a passion for traditional Seychellois rhythms – a passion that would define her remarkable career.
