Waves of change: Anushka Payet’s ocean dream

For Anushka Payet of Baie Lazare, the ocean has always been more than a backdrop to island life – it is her source of inspiration, purpose, and ambition.

Currently pursuing an Advanced Certificate in Fisheries and Fishing Technology at the Seychelles Maritime Academy (SMA), this determined student is steadily working toward her dream of becoming a marine conservationist and environmental ambassador.

“I have always loved the ocean and marine life, and I want to help protect the marine environment and support sustainable fishing practices,” she says with confidence.
