From civilians to soldiers: 28 recruits join the ranks of the SDF

Twenty-eight recruits were formally inducted as privates into the Seychelles Defence Forces during a passing-out ceremony held on Friday morning at the Seychelles Coast Guard Base, Ile Perseverance.

The nineteen men and nine women took their oath of allegiance after completing three months of intensive training, which began on January 16, 2026. The ceremony was attended by Commander-in-Chief and President of the Republic, Dr Patrick Herminie; Chief of Defence Forces Major General Michael Rosette; Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier Jean Atala; Chief of Staff Colonel Michael Olanda; senior officers, officers, and family members.
