Candlelight memorial mass honours lives lost to HIV/Aids
Faithful Christians, including many children, gathered at St Therese Church in Plaisance yesterday for a candlelight remembrance Mass in honour of those who have died from HIV and Aids, those living with the virus, and individuals working alongside them.
The Mass began with a solemn procession. Through hymns and prayers, participants carried single flames in their hands, slowly walking past the altar to place their candles on a symbolic HIV and Aids emblem. The service was presided over by parish priest Father Moise Diatta.
