‘In a connected world, our resilience is our sovereignty’
“Once again Seychelles joins the rest of the global community to celebrate the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day. May 17, 1865 is the day that the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) – the United Nation’s agency for digital technologies – was founded. Since then, ITU has been instrumental in steering the global society in achieving global connectivity, inclusivity, and resiliency.
“This year’s theme: ‘Digital Lifelines – Strengthening Resilience in a Connected World’ –articulates a dual purpose: to inspire reflection and to drive deliberate, impactful and sustainable actions. It is no longer about how connected our community is to the rest of the world, but how resilient, secure and sustainable that connectivity truly is.
