Commission hears testimony from Major Dave Mathieu

The Commission of Inquiry into the Montagne Posée prison riot of December 5, 2024, on Thursday heard testimony from Major Dave Mathieu, staff officer for training, education, and sports within the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF).

Major Mathieu confirmed that he was present at the prison on the day of the riot. At the time, he was under the command of Colonel Michael Hollanda, land force commander and Chief of Staff of the SDF, and was responsible for the military officers deployed.
