Young dancers raise funds ahead of Thailand competition |20 June 2026

A vibrant fundraising dance show drew a large and enthusiastic crowd as young performers showcased their talent while raising money for an upcoming international competition in Thailand.
The event, held on June 6 at the Roche Caiman community centre, opened with Afro and dancehall performances infused with elements of Seychelles’ traditional sega culture. The second segment highlighted the academy’s youngest dancers, aged four to eight, who engaged in lively dance battles and demonstrated the skills gained through their training.
Dance crew manager and instructor Janie Tamboo told Seychelles NATION that the turnout exceeded expectations. “The show was great. We had an amazing crowd, and people were even standing because of the number of spectators who came to support us,” she said.
