Seychelles signs labour action plan with Russia

Seychelles and the Russian Federation have signed an Action Plan to strengthen labour administration and cooperation among labour inspectors.

The agreement was signed by the Minister for Employment & Human Resource Planning, Idith Alexander, and the Minister for Labour & Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Anton Kotyakov, during the 11th Russian Labour Inspectors Forum being held in Russia from June 22–26, 2026.

The agreement builds on President Patrick Herminie’s recent state visit to Russia, during which Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Barry Faure, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on April 24, 2026. The MoU established a framework for collaboration in labour inspection, employment services, and the integration of digital tools to modernise public employment systems.
