‘Fifty years on, the ocean still calls Seychelles forward’

I want to begin by offering my warmest congratulations to the Department of Blue Economy for organising Blue Economy Day at Beau Vallon on July 18, marking eleven years of the Department alongside the 50th anniversary of our nation’s independence.

It is a fitting way to honour this milestone year, and I am particularly heartened that there will be a strong presence of young Seychellois among the exhibitions, the ocean heritage stories, the circular economy demonstrations and, above all, the Youth and Innovation Corner.
