Work resumes from 8am to 4pm as of today
Normal government working hours resumes today, Monday, August 17, 2026, following a Cabinet decision to end the temporary energy‑saving arrangement.
The announcement was made after last week’s Cabinet meeting, with Vice‑President Sebastien Pillay explaining that the government had reviewed the impact of shortened hours and determined that the measure was no longer necessary under current circumstances.
Under the revised arrangement, the normal working day will run from 8am to 4pm, restoring the previous schedule.
