Praslin lights up for Youth Festival 2026

The 2026 Youth Festival was officially launched on Praslin during a spectacular ceremony under the theme ‘Empowering Youth, Shaping the Future’.

Held at the Grand Anse Praslin playing field on Friday evening, the festival was opened by Minister for Youth & Sports Kalsey Belle, in the presence of Principal Minister Wallace Cosgrow, other ministers, government officials, and members of the public.

The evening began with the symbolic Youth Flame of Hope, as Staniella Rose from La Digue passed the flame to Ariza Cadence from Praslin. Ahead of the festival, the flame had journeyed across the islands, carried by young people from Mahé, La Digue, and Praslin. On Praslin, it came together as one – a powerful reflection of Seychelles itself.
