Sowing seeds of change: How Bel Ombre’s ‘Green Harvest’ is empowering a new generation

In the heart of Bel Ombre, a once modest vegetable patch behind the community centre has been transformed into a flourishing oasis of life, learning, and collective spirit. What began as a small garden has blossomed into Green Harvest, a community initiative reshaping how Seychelles’ youth engage with nature, food security, and their future.

Led by Gaea Seychelles under the direction of Dr Elvina Henriette, in partnership with the Bel Ombre district administration, the honorary consulate of the Republic of Seychelles in Luxembourg, and the NGO Educate to Connect, the project is building a scalable model for national sustainability.
