Giving back through community action

Keeping community spaces clean and cared for is not only the responsibility of authorities. It also requires residents and community groups to take an active role in protecting the places they share.

At Dan Sours, community involvement has seen volunteers coming together to clear and maintain the area and its nursery. Among those involved is Stephane Barbe, a member of the Baie Lazare Watershed Committee and lecturer at the Seychelles Maritime Academy (SMA), who has been working with Rootical on the initiative over the past year.
