United Workers Union forms SPTC staff committee

A new executive committee was established for the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) during the United Workers Union committee meeting held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the SPTC meeting room.

The meeting brought together union representatives and staff members to discuss the purpose, structure, and responsibilities of the committee.

In his opening remarks, United Workers Union chairperson Jerry Sopha explained the committee’s role in relation to the union and SPTC, stressing the importance of staff participation and cooperation. Members agreed that the committee would serve as a platform for staff to work together, raise concerns, and support one another in creating a favourable working environment.
