The National Arts and Crafts Council (NACC) has reached a landmark 35 years of service, marking more than three decades of nurturing Seychelles’ artistic identity, preserving cultural heritage, and supporting local creatives.
Established under the National Arts Council Act in October 1990, the Council has grown into the country’s supreme coordinating body for the arts, guiding policy, supporting artists, and building platforms for creativity.
The anniversary, originally scheduled for October last year but postponed due to national elections and global challenges, is now being celebrated with a week‑long programme from September 16–18, 2026. Activities include an Artisanal Fair, a Visual Arts Exhibition, and a gala showcase at the National Theatre. Together, they highlight the breadth of Seychelles’ creative industries – from traditional crafts to contemporary performing arts.
