15 Bel Ombre pupils receive spectacles through Lions Club vision initiative
Fifteen pupils from Bel Ombre primary school have received free spectacles following a vision screening exercise conducted by the Lions Club of Seychelles in partnership with Optic Seychelles.
The presentation on Monday marked the completion of a pilot project designed to identify vision problems among primary school children and ensure that those needing corrective glasses could receive them without financial strain on their families.
Minister for Education & Human Resource Development David Pierre said the occasion was about more than handing over spectacles, describing it as the culmination of an initiative that showed what can be achieved when schools, families, community organisations, the private sector and government work together.
