President Herminie expresses condolences to Libya following devastating floods

President Patrick Herminie, has expressed sadness and conveyed his condolences to Abdulhamid Dbeibah, Prime Minister of the State of Libya following devastating floods across the country.

In his message, President Herminie, stated:

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the devastating floods that have affected communities across Libya, causing loss of life, injury, displacement, and serious disruption to essential services.

“On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, and our sincere sympathy to all those injured or otherwise affected by this tragedy. Our thoughts are also with the emergency responders, medical personnel, volunteers, and local authorities working under challenging conditions to rescue those in danger and assist affected communities.

“Seychelles stands in solidarity with the Government and people of Libya during this trying time. We hope that current recovery efforts quickly restore the critical services so that essential aid reaches those in need.”
