US embassy hosts first exchange alumni reception |03 October 2026
The United States Embassy in Seychelles on Wednesday evening hosted its first-ever Exchange Alumni Reception at the Augerine Hotel in Beau Vallon, bringing together former participants of US-funded exchange programmes to celebrate their achievements and strengthen ties between the two countries.
Held under the banner of the ‘Freedom 250 Alumni Reception’, the event formed part of celebrations marking 250 years of US independence, from 1776 to 2026.
The reception brought together Seychellois alumni of programmes including the Mandela Washington Fellowship, the Fulbright Foreign Student Programme, the International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP), the International Military Education and Training (IMET) Programme and other US-sponsored initiatives.
The event aimed to recognise the contributions of alumni from both the public and private sectors to US-Seychelles relations, while creating opportunities for networking, collaboration and future business partnerships.
