SADC forum focuses on youth and human development

From September 24-25, 2026, Hon. Denise Clarisse represented the National Assembly of Seychelles at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Human and Social Development and Special Programmes (HSDSP) of the SADC Parliamentary Forum (PF) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The meeting focused on human capital development, youth empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), education, health, and inclusive socio-economic development across the SADC region.

Opening the meeting, chairperson Hon. Luisa Damiao Santos welcomed parliamentarians and underscored the importance of strengthening regional cooperation to advance human and social development. She highlighted the role of parliaments in promoting inclusive development, strengthening oversight, and ensuring the effective domestication and implementation of regional commitments.
