Braving the threat of heavy rain, 40 people – among them army personnel, police officers and civilians – set off in the early hours of Saturday, October 3, for a 20-km walk from Palais des Sports to North East Point and back.
“We were determined not to cancel the event unless the weather turned really bad. Thank God we got excellent weather,” said Bernard Valentin, chairman of Patient Solidarity.
“I participated because of the uniqueness of the time for such an activity, and because I like the causes it supports,” said Chantal Melanie, a participant and member of the executive committee of Patient Solidarity.
