Sustainable living and adequate housing takes centre stage at Habitat Week forum |08 October 2026
The forum gave young people an opportunity to contribute directly to the discussion
Students, educators and stakeholders gathered at the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education (SITE) Auditorium yesterday for a forum focused on sustainable living and adequate housing in Seychelles.
Held as part of this year’s Habitat Week activities, the forum was organised by the Department of Lands, Housing and Infrastructure under the theme ‘Adequate Housing for All’.
Held under the title ‘Let’s Talk About Sustainable Living in Seychelles’, the forum provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about sustainable living practices and discuss ways of creating healthier, more efficient and sustainable living environments.
The initiative also placed particular emphasis on young people, encouraging them to think about how their choices and actions can contribute to more sustainable homes and communities in the future.
The forum was officially launched by Seychelles Infrastructure Agency (SIA) chief executive Jitesh Shah.
