Dredging schedule revised to reduce noise impact

Dredging schedule revised to reduce noise impact

The government has introduced a temporary adjustment to dredging operations for the Île Aurore Land Reclamation Project following concerns raised by residents of Île Perseverance over nighttime noise disturbance.

With immediate effect, dredging operations will cease daily at 11pm and resume at 5am. This schedule will remain in place until the completion of the nearshore bunding works.

The measure is intended to reduce nighttime disruption for households near the reclamation site while allowing the project to continue.

Although the reduced operating hours will result in additional costs due to equipment downtime, the decision reflects the government’s commitment to residents’ well-being and quality of life.

The relevant authorities will continue to work closely with the project team to ensure compliance with the revised schedule throughout the nearshore bunding phase.

The government acknowledges the concerns raised by the Île Perseverance community and thanks residents for their patience and understanding as the works continue.
