State schools and professional centres reopen today

The Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development wishes to inform parents, students, teachers and the general public that all state schools and professional centres will reopen today, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, following their temporary closure due to adverse weather conditions.

The decision was taken following consultations with the relevant authorities responsible for weather monitoring and public safety. Based on the latest assessments, conditions are considered suitable for the resumption of normal school activities.

While schools will reopen, the ministry urges all members of the public to remain vigilant and continue monitoring official announcements for any changes in weather conditions that may require a review of this decision. Parents and guardians are encouraged to exercise caution when travelling and to remain alert to any developments that may affect the safety and well-being of students.

The Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development thanks parents, students, teachers and school staff for their patience, understanding and cooperation during this period.

For further updates, the public is advised to follow communications issued through the ministry’s official channels.
